Hello and Welcome back to another episode of the Noobie Dentist Podcast. It is 2020 and this is the first episode of the podcast to go out in 2020. I will be releasing a separate podcast doing a 2019 in review and 2020 resolutions so I will not get into it too much here. In …
In this week’s episode I had the awesome pleasure of chatting with Dr. Misagh Habibi. Misagh is a dentist in Western Australia with an exclusive focus on implant dentistry. In this interview we cover his journey since dental school and how continuing education has really defined his career. We also discuss the state of implant …
In this episode I interviewed Dr. Davey Alleman who is a young dentist based in the United States. He is currently a dentist in the military and practices biomimetic dentistry. Biomimetic dentistry is a hot topic and is an area of dentistry that I have personally been interested in and so this chat with Davey was an amazing way to learn more. This episode is by far one of my favourites in terms of the richness of the content; Davey did not hold back and really delivered unbelievable value during this interview. I am sure that you guys will learn a few things as well and I hope that it can impact your thought process and even clinical practice as much as it did for me. I strongly feel that biomimetic dentistry is the way of the future and something that we will look back on in 10-15 years and wonder why we used to cut teeth for retention.
In this week’s episode I had the great opportunity to sit down with two of Australia’s premier endodontists Dr. Mehdi Rahimi and Dr. Mark Johnstone. Dr. Mehdi Rahimi is an endodontist based in Sydney, Australia. He is an adjunct associate professor at Charles Sturt University and is involved in endodontic continuing professional development teaching at various levels both throughout Australia and abroad. Dr. Mark Johnstone is an endodontist based in Melbourne and is also involved in teaching in continuing professional development courses and just recently completed his Masters of Health and Medical Law at the University of Melbourne. Mark was completing his endo post grad while I was a dental student at Melbourne Dental school so he was also one of my endo demonstrators in dental school.
Welcome to a special 2 part series with Dr. Bruce V Freeman (@drbvf). Dr. Bruce Freeman is a well renowned and respected orthodontist in Toronto who works in private practice and one of the top teaching hospitals in Canada where he focuses on oro-facial pain and TMD! He has become a mentor and someone who I often turn to for advice! Outside of dentistry, Dr. Freeman is an avid chef and likes experimenting with various recipes baking with grass fed butter! This 2 part series is special for me as it marks the first podcasts that I recorded in person with the guest.
In part 1 of this 2 part series, we focus on life outside of dentistry talking about various topics including finding a good work life balance, dealing with the ups and downs of being a dentist, burnout and a recurring topic on the noobiedentist podcast; side hustles!
As I’ve often mentioned in my podcasts, I’m a big fan of the long form interviews such as the ones done by Tim Ferriss and so this 2 part series is an exciting one for me! I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I did recording them with Dr. Freeman!
